We stock new fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and illustrated books across every genre — from literary debuts to practical guides, children's picture books to memoirs. New titles are priced at standard cover price, and we refresh our staff-picks table every month with titles we've actually read and genuinely recommend. Many of our staff picks carry a modest discount.

Every new book arrives in clean condition, and we stand behind it — if a page is missing or the binding fails, bring it back and we'll make it right.

Our used stock comes from personal libraries, estate collections, and thoughtful trade-ins — books that have been read and loved, and deserve another reader. Every copy is hand-checked for missing pages, damage, water stains, markings, and loose bindings before it reaches the shelf.

We grade each book as Good, Very Good, or Fine condition, and price accordingly — typically a third to half the cover price of new. That means a £20 hardcover might find you a second-hand copy for £6–£12, depending on age and condition. No haggling games, no hidden damage. What you see is what you get.

We keep a small, rotating selection of rarer stock behind the counter — first editions, signed copies by their authors, out-of-print classics, and books with real scarcity value. Each is priced individually according to rarity, condition, and current demand.
