The Reading Room

A Room Built for Reading

The reading room is a destination in its own right — a place where you can settle into a worn armchair by tall windows and lose an afternoon in a book, no purchase required. Shelves line the walls with reference copies, browsing finds, and quiet treasures. There's no rush here. If you find something you love, wonderful — but if you just want to read, that's exactly what the room is for.

Tea, Coffee & Quiet

A small self-serve counter offers tea and coffee — pay what you'd like in the honesty box. Quiet conversation is welcome, but we keep the room phone-call-free so everyone can hear themselves think. It's a place for readers, not a café, and that's the whole idea.

Monthly Book Club

Once a month, the reading room becomes a gathering place for our book club. We rotate between new releases and carefully chosen second-hand classics — always something worth reading, always people worth talking to about it. Anyone is welcome to join, whether you've read the book or just want to listen. Ask us in-store or use the contact form to find out what we're reading next and when we meet.

Author Readings & Events

Throughout the year, we host small author readings and poetry evenings in the reading room. These are intimate gatherings — seating is limited and the atmosphere is unhurried. Upcoming events are announced in the shop and online. Drop us a line if you'd like to know what's coming.
